【Abstract】 In order to breed a new starter propagation barley variety suitable for growing in Shanxi Province, a new barley variety named Fenmai 30 was generated after many years of breeding by crossbreeding with Shannong 193 as the maternal parent and 02 Jing972 as paternal parent. The variety has the growth period of 224 d, strong tillering ability, high yield of 350 kg/667 m2, cold resistance and suitable for starter propagation. It was registered by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in December 2022, with the registration number: GPD Barley(Highland Barley)(2022) 140032.
