【Abstract】 Zhang Xuemen has formed his own perspectives on children and education after a long-term practice and theoretical research, with a combination of both Western progressivism theory and Chinese Confucian theory that emphasizes the unity of knowledge and action. Zhang′s perspectives on children revolve around the core concept of "treating children as growing organisms". While his perspectives on education covers a wide range of topics, including the dual goals of education for the people and also for the society, the educational contents that focus on life, the educational method that starts from taking actions, and the educational evaluation that promotes the collaborative progress of teachers and students. His perspectives on children and education have some enlightenments for the people to acknowledge the inherent capabilities of children, with the consideration of the current requirements and development of educational goals, to align our approaches with children′s life and experience, as well as inspiring their actions.更多还原
