【Abstract】 There are multiple and complicated causes for the weakening of ancient trees and finding the real causes is a prerequisite for effectively protecting and rejuvenating such ancient trees. In this paper, a comprehensive elaboration was made on the self-factors,natural factors and human factors causing the weakening of ancient trees with an analysis on the mechanism of the main pathogenic factors.
