【Abstract】 The cultivation of application-oriented talents in colleges and universities is highly competitive in today’s society. Students can flexibly use their own theoretical knowledge reserves in practice, realize their self-value, and promote the development of the whole society. It can be seen that the cultivation of application-oriented talents in colleges and universities has an exploratory significance. This paper expounds the concept and training significance of application-oriented talents, in order to improve the degree of attention paid to them by colleges and universities in China, and in view of the problems existing in the training process of application-oriented talents in Environmental Engineering, puts forward analysis and improvement optimization plans.
