【Abstract】 In terms of adhering to the realization of the mission of socialism with Chinese characteristics on the basis of remaining true to the original aspiration and endeavoring to the future missions, Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, has emphasized that we will always advance while holding high the banner of Mao Zedong Thought. Mao Zedong Thought is a scientific theory with rich implications, whose economic thought is an integral part. Mao Zedong’s economic thought focuses on emancipating and developing productive forces, emphasizing the supremacy of the people, insisting on self-reliance, advocating independent economic construction, and implementing a development strategy for building China into a powerful socialist country. Mao Zedong’s economic thought has very rich connotations of truth and has much guiding significance in practice in contemporary China. An in-depth interpretation and exploration of its contemporary value can deepen our understanding of the CPC’s economic thought that is an inheritance of the past and a progress with the times, and will promote the healthy and stable development of the socialist economy with Chinese characteristics in the new era.更多还原
