【Abstract】 Objective The study explored the effects of types of icons(border shape and graphic semantics) on search efficiency and attention under different cognitive loads. Methods Participants were required to complete the search task, and their reaction time and accuracy were recorded to investigate the attention and search efficiency of different icon types. Results The attention feature of icons under high cognitive load is significantly lower than that under low cognitive load; the attention of triangle border icons is significantly higher than that of square border icons; the attention of human image semantic icons is also higher than that of non-human image semantic icons. Conclusion Cognitive load, border shape and graphic semantics have an impact on the attention of icons. Triangle border shape icons and human image semantic icons are more attractive.更多还原
