【Abstract】 Objective To investigate and analyze the workload and job satisfaction of health educators in Shenzhen during the normalization of the COVID-19 epidemic and their impact on anxiety and depression, so as to provide a reference for promoting the mental health of health educators. Methods From November 2020 to January 2021, through the Shenzhen Health Education and Promotion Center, a questionnaire survey was conducted on the workload, job satisfaction, lifestyle, and mental health of 2 811 full-time health educators in 10 districts of Shenzhen. Logistic regression was used to explore the effects of workload and job satisfaction on anxiety and depression. Results The workload and job satisfaction scores of health educators were 18.29 ±4.60 and 71.22 ±11.28, and the detection rates of anxiety and depression were 20.5% and 31.3%,respectively. People with total work load of 18 to 20(OR:1.817, 95%CI: 1.239-2.663) and >20(OR: 3.620, 95%CI: 2.503-5.234) were more likely to suffer from anxiety. Total work load 15 to 17(OR: 1.402, 95%CI: 1.049-1.874), 18 to 20(OR:1.545, 95%CI: 1.136-2.102), and >20(OR: 1.744, 95%CI: 1.286-2.366) were more likely to be depressed. The higher the job satisfaction score, the lower the risk of anxiety and depression. Conclusion The rate of anxiety and depression in health education staff is high, and the work load and job satisfaction are the important influencing factors. It is necessary to arrange the working time reasonably, reduce the work load appropriately, and improve the job satisfaction to improve and promote the mental health of health education staff.
