面向SDN数据平面故障恢复的备份机制
A Backup Mechanism for SDN Data Plane Fault Recovery
【摘要】 软件定义网络(SDN)作为一种新型的网络架构,通过将网络设备的控制平面与数据平面分离开来,实现了对网络的灵活控制。由于数据平面承担着数据转发的重要任务,直接影响着网络的正常通信,因此一旦网络中发生故障,保证数据平面的正常运行显得尤为重要。本文设计了一种面向数据平面的备份机制,将保留最后全局一致的流表版本作为热备份,同时把常驻流表以文件的形式存储在交换机中作为冷备份,两者结合的备份机制提高了数据平面在故障发生下的生存能力。通过搭建实验平台对该机制进行验证,证明了机制的有效性,保障了通信的正常进行,在故障快速恢复和降低备份资源开销上也均有一定优势。
【Abstract】 As a new network architecture, software defined networking(SDN) realizes the flexible control of network by separating the control plane and the data plane of network equipment. As the data plane undertakes the important task of data forwarding, which directly affects the normal communication of the network, it is particularly important to ensure the normal operation of the data plane in case of SDN application failure in the network. This paper designs a backup mechanism for SDN data plane, which keeps the last globally consistent flow table version as a hot backup, and stores the resident flow table as a file in the switch as a cold backup. The combined backup mechanism improves the survivability of data plane in case of failure. The experimental platform is built to verify the mechanism, which proves the effectiveness of the mechanism, ensures the normal communication, and has certain advantages in fast recovery and reducing the cost of backup resources.
