【Abstract】 The community public space, composed of material, public, subjective and social elements, is not only related to the realization of residents’ yearning for a better life, but also gives the significance representation of urban space construction. The corridor space is the basic unit of the community public space, the “first public space” of the community, with the characteristics of firstness, primacy and good-neighborliness, and occupies an important position of origin and foundation in the whole community public space. The Y community in Yangpu district, Shanghai, has effectively used the systematic mechanism of the “four elements” of public space to carry out the governance of “first public space”, and has realized the changes in the physical space of the community, neighborhood relations and governance thinking. The “first public space” is an innovative concept to explain the effective interaction between the theory and practice of community space governance in the new era, which provides a new perspective for promoting the Chinese urban community space governance in the new era.更多还原
