【Abstract】 In ancient Japan, the system of laws and decrees as well as centralism was established under the influence of foreign cultures. In order to strengthen the rule, the dominators implemented a series of policies concerning Elderly Care, some of which were based on Buddhist belief of mercy and karma, some were closely related to Confucian political ideas and filial piety, and some were the results of the combination of Confucianism and Buddhism. These constituted the ideological basis of the Elderly Care Policy in ancient Japan, and they were the adaptation made by foreign cultures in reaction to the social reality of Japan.更多还原
