【Abstract】 The growth paths of educators are different but have something in common. As an educator, Yan Xiu went through foundation stage, growth stage, maturity stage, fame stage and transcendence stage. The main reason for his transition from Jinshi to educator in the late Qing Dynasty is summarized as follows: saving the country through education and sticking to his aspiration, seeking truth from facts and promoting innovation, his diligent, open and inclusive personality, strict self-discipline and self-cultivation, advocating justice and being indifferent to fame and wealth, being easy to other people and hard to himself, being pragmatic and emphasizing practice, and finally getting help from confidants.更多还原
