【Abstract】 General Studies in English Literature is an optional course offered by universities to enhance language ability and humanistic literacy of college students, and help them better understand the culture of English-speaking countries, which is an important part of educational design. However, as one of the cultural representations, English literature naturally carries the ideological characteristics of English culture.
