【Abstract】 After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, with the development of city and the influx of population, the living comfort of the courtyards in the old city of Beijing could not satisfied the demand of modern life. How to update and stimulate the vitality of the old city is a difficult problem for designers. Taking the No. 3 courtyard of Maoer Hutong in Beijing as an example, starting from how to shape public space in the miscellaneous courtyard, we discuss how to renew and protect the historical and cultural courtyards in the new era from the perspective of human settlements environment, we hope to provide a little reference for the renovation of Beijing’s old city.更多还原
