【Abstract】 As a new term ever recorded,"新闻自由（freedom of journalism）" appeared no later than 1907. Before that,the introduction of the western concept of freedom provided a sound semantic basis for it. It initially adopted the form of "新闻之自由",which has a strong color of Japanese word origin. However,the translation of "报章自由（ freedom of the newspaper）" provided by English may have a certain Chinese style. Freedom is not only a state,but also a right,as well as the freedom of the press. "新闻自由（freedom of journalism）" began its conceptualization in the last few years of the late Qing Dynasty. When "新闻自由（freedom of journalism）"became independent from " 言 论 自 由（freedom of speech）" and " 出 版 自 由（freedom of the press）",it also developed its own subordinate concepts.更多还原
