【Abstract】 The “utilitarianism” of adult higher education is the fame and fortune thought and improper behavior of its stakeholders who are eager for quick success and profit, which is contrary to the original intention of the “public welfare” of adult higher education, and is the spiritual shackles and behavioral shackles for the continuous, coordinated and healthy development of adult higher education. Based on the combination of literature research and empirical research, the idea of what the utilitarianism of adult higher education is, why the utilitarianism of adult higher education is, and how to get rid of the utilitarianism of adult higher education is proposed.
