【Abstract】 Thermal barrier coating technology is an important technical means for advanced aero-engines and ground gas turbines to achieve high efficiency, low emissions and long life. The research progresses of traditional thermal barrier coating materials, preparation methods and failure mechanisms were systematically summarized. Furthermore, the research status and deficiencies of new coating materials, preparation processes and microstructures for thermal barrier coatings were discussed emphatically.
