【Abstract】 It is believed that the reasons for the formation of LIU Wan-su’s Xuanfu theory have external and internal factors. The external factors include: the need to pay attention to medical research, the need to correct the abuse of warm and dry prescriptions in Taiping Huimin Hejiju Fang, the influence of Neo Confucianism’s innovative thought, and the influence of Taoist thought of understanding nature; The internal factors include: LIU Wan-su was good at inheritance and innovation and diligent in clinical practice.
