Effect of budesonide formoterol on lung function and quality of life in patients with lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the effect of budesonide formoterol on lung function and quality of life in patients with lung cancer complicated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD). Method A total of 80 patients with lung cancer combined with COPD were divided into the observation group(n=40) and the control group(n=40) according to different treatment methods. The control group was given routine treatment, and the observation group was given budesonide formoterol treatment on the basis of the control group’s regimen. The levels of inflammatory factors, pulmonary function indexes, quality of life and adverse events were compared between the two groups. Result After the treatment, the levels of interleukin-6(IL-6), C-reactive protein(CRP), and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) in both groups were decreased, the levels of IL-6, CRP and TNF-α in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). After the treatment, the levels of forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1), forced vital capacity(FVC) and FEV1/FVC in both groups were increased, the levels of FEV1,FVC and FEV1/FVC in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). After the treatment, the activity limitation, respiratory symptoms, disease impact score and total score of patients in the two groups were decreased, and these scores of patients in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse events between the two groups(P>0.05). Conclusion Budesonide formoterol treatment in patients with lung cancer complicated with COPD could effectively reduce patients’ inflammatory factors, improve their pulmonary function indicators, and quality of life, with high safety.
