【Abstract】 Totem is the product of primitive thinking. It reflects the ancient people’s understanding of the natural world. As a symbol of recording Chinese language, Chinese characters are also permeated with totem culture. Explanation of Articles and Words, as the earliest dictionary in China, contains a large number of ancient Chinese characters and explanations on the meaning of the characters. Through this book, we can deeply explore the cultural meaning of the Chinese characters, understand the totems that existed in ancient China and the transformation process from totem to Chinese characters, so as to better understand the totem worship culture carried by the characters and summarize the ancestors’ culture of totem worship primitive thinking and psychological characteristics.更多还原
