【Abstract】 Compared with the “arena culture” of modern fighting, the “competition culture” pursued by the traditional martial arts was the natural expression of its fighting. Taking the technical behavior of fighting as the logical starting point, this paper compared traditional martial arts with modern combat and interpreted the realistic concern of why traditional martial arts could not fight and how to fight. The research showed that the separation of “training” and “fighting” caused the decline of martial arts’ ability to “fight”.
