【Abstract】 The two-year period of "expanding commerce" clause formulated by Sino-US First Phase Economic and Trade Agreement is about to expire at the end of 2021, and US is accelerating the assessment of agreement implementation.This paper focuses on Sino-US energy and chemical products trade, analyzes Sino-US economic and trade relations at the present stage, and assesses the First Phase Economic and Trade Agreement implementation. The main conclusions are as follows: it is difficult to achieve the overall procurement target of the agreement as scheduled, with limited growth space of energy import from the US; the US side is willing to reduce tariffs, but high tariffs between China and the US will remain for some time, despite signs of easing in the economic and trade sector; the Biden administration is not seeking a second phase of negotiations, but will remain engaged with China on structural issues such as supply chain security and market opening that were not covered by the first phase of the economic and trade agreement.更多还原
