【Abstract】 COVID-19 pertains to the category of pestilence in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM). It has the characteristics of acute attack and strong infectivity. Through exploring the relevant theories and experience for the treatment of infectious diseases in the past generations of TCM,and combining the clinical practice in fighting epidemic,Professor KONG Li holds that the primary disease mechanism of COVID-19 is the internal exuberance of damp toxin. Professor KONG Li puts forward the treatment principle and syndrome differentiation method of integrated Chinese and western medicine,that is,"resolving dampness and protecting yin,clearing heat and remove toxin". He emphasizes that "driving out evils is the first priority" and "eliminating the internal environment for virus",and also points out that "protecting yin" and "preserving body fluids"are of great significance to improve the prognosis.
