Mediating effect of mental state on the relationship between security and occupational burnout in COVID-19 front-line medical staff
【Abstract】 Objective To explore the mediating effect of mental state on the relationship between security and occupational burnout in front-line medical staff who have supported Hubei province during the pandemic of COVID-19. Methods A total of176 front-line medical staff who have supported Hubei province during the pandemic of COVID-19 were selected and assessed with general information questionnaire,Security Questionnaire( SQ),Self-Rating Depression Scale( SDS),Self-Rating Anxiety Scale( SAS) and Maslach Burnout Inventory General Survey( MBI-GS). Results The occupational burnout in front-line medical staff was at a low level. Security could negatively predict occupational burnout and mental state in front-line medical staff( P <0. 05),and mental state could positively predict occupational burnout( P < 0. 01). Conclusion Mental state plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between security and occupational burnout in front-line medical staff during the pandemic of COVID-19. Improving the anxiety and depression in front-line medical staff is an effective way to reduce their occupational burnout.
