【Abstract】 The new monograph by Qiu Yongzhi is a marvelous work in the field of Chinese monetary and economic history,which focuses on silver and currencies in the Ming Dynasty. It researches the object in the change of eco-social structure beyond traditional monetary history,enlarges the field of monetary history,and develops the study in the institutions of tax-finance and market oriented economy. Meanwhile,based on highly theoretical and introspective consciousness,this work does not simply take currencies as a kind of universal equivalent,nor limit to the basic functions of monies,but it pays more attention to the credit interaction on different levels of eco-society which was reflected on the monetary system and circulation patterns in the specific historic space-time. It provides the most promising monetary historical approach for verifying and developing the credit theory of currency.更多还原
