【Abstract】 Fangchenglun is an important achievement of Mei Wending’s early mathematical research. Most scholars believe the book was published in 1687 while there is disagreement. According to Qian Baocong’s Mei Wuan Xiansheng Nianpu, this paper further interprets Mei Wending’s letters and related historical materials, demonstrates the viewpoint that Fangchenglun was first published in 1699, and analyzes many factors that led to misunderstanding. It took 25 years from the completion to the publication of Fangchenglun. Taking the publication as a clue, this paper discusses the development of Mei Wending’s academic contacts.更多还原
