【Abstract】 The ancient people followed the natural concept of “the unity of nature and human”, which was their valuable experience in building dwellings. The ancients regarded nature and human as a whole, interrelated and inseparable. In the construction of traditional dwellings, attention was paid to both integrity and adaptability. They considered how to build a comfortable indoor environment from the environment. The “Jiaoquan dwelling” is a kind of unique dwellings in Shanghai formed by the local environment. The layout of the site and the details of shading and ventilation both take into account the climatic and geographical conditions of Shanghai. This provides us the experience in building houses today. Designing with nature is a part of architectural design that we cannot give up. Considering the local natural climate and topography will help us to make a better urban plan and build houses.更多还原
