【Abstract】 Objective To explore the effect of adverse childhood experience( ACE) during the COVID-19 on gastrointestinal symptoms in pediatric patients with cancer, and to analyze the mediating effects of anxiety and stress. Methods A questionnaire was used to investigate 165 cases of pediatric patients with cancer. Correlation analysis and structural equation modeling were used to explore the relationship between ACE,anxiety, stress, and gastrointestinal symptoms, and to test the mediating role of anxiety and stress in the influence of ACE on gastrointestinal symptoms. Results ACE was positively related to anxiety, stress, and gastrointestinal symptoms( r = 0. 623,0. 528,0. 455; P < 0. 01). Anxiety and stress were positively correlated with gastrointestinal symptoms( r = 0. 515,0. 631; P < 0. 01). Anxiety and stress played a fully mediating role in the ACE on gastrointestinal symptoms. Conclusions ACE during the COVID-19 affects the gastrointestinal symptoms of pediatric patients with cancer through anxiety and stress.
