海洋密度剖面模型及其适用性研究
A Modified Density Profile Model of Sea Water
【摘要】 海洋密度分层剖面是影响海洋内波生成和演化的关键环境要素,建立密度剖面的参数化模型以描述海洋的密度分布剖面,可以更方便地研究海洋动力环境。在利用当前常用的双曲正切密度剖面模型研究中国南海内波演化时,发现该模型对仅有单一凹向的真实海水密度剖面的模拟效果不佳。以常用的双曲正切密度剖面模型为基础,通过引入一个修正系数,提出了一个改进的密度剖面模型,它在保留原模型可以很好描述海水密度跃层特征的同时,显著提升了模拟的精度。通过与全球不同海域的实测海水密度剖面的时空分布数据进行对比,论证了该改进模型的广泛适用性。
【Abstract】 The density profile of sea water is a crucial environmental factor affecting the generation and evolution of internal waves. The density profile is usually modeled with hyperbolic tangent function, however it does not work well when it is used to model density profile with a shape like "7", which is common in ocean. In the present paper, the commonly used hyperbolic tangent density profile model is modified by introducing a correction coefficient. The modified model, inheriting the merits of the original model, can well describe the characteristics of thermocline and is much more accurate than the original model. Application of the modified model in global oceans demonstrates that it can be widely used to model sea water density profile.
