【Abstract】 Mr. Lao She’s novel Gushu Artist shows the life of Fang Baoqing’s family in Chongqing as a gushu artist during the Anti-Japanese War. The novel portrays a group of vivid characters such as Fang Baoqing, Xiulian and Meng Liang, showing the hardships of the hard-working masses at the bottom of the special period in the war.
