基于新工科的通识课学生参与度定量分析——以环境与健康课程为例

【摘要】 文章利用在线教学软件"雨课堂"提供的数据,定量分析了基于新工科的通识课环境与健康学生课堂参与度与成绩的关系。结果表明,课堂成绩与期末论文成绩总体呈显著正相关,理工科学生的课堂成绩优于文科学生,而文科学生的论文成绩优于理工科学生;在不同年级学生里,低年级学生的课堂表现最佳,而中年级学生的论文写作提高明显;相比于低、中年级学生,高年级学生的课堂表现与论文成绩均有所下降。文章认为,如何提升文科学生课堂成绩、理工科学生论文成绩以及高年级学生课堂参与度是基于新工科的通识课教学改革的努力方向。

【Abstract】 This paper quantitatively analyzes the relationship between students’ class participation and their score in the new engineering-based general education course Environment and Health using the data provided by the online teaching software Rain Classroom. The results showed that: The class performance and final paper scores had a significantly positive correlation, but the class performance of science&engineering students was higher than that of arts students. The paper performance of arts students was better than that of science&engineering students. Among students of different grades, lower grade students had the best class performance, and middle grade students improved their paper writing significantly. Compared with lower and middle grade students, both the class performance and paper grades of senior students decreased. This paper argues that there is a need to improve the class performance and essay performance of senior students compared to lower and middle grade students. We suggest that the reform of general education courses based on new engineering should be directed to improve the class performance of liberal arts students, the thesis writing of science&engineering students, and the class participation of senior students.
