【Abstract】 Earlier than the publication of Cohesion in English by M. A. K. Halliday and R. Hassan, the scientific research of Chinese cohesion commenced. The Textbook of Chinese Grammar(3 rdEdition), co-authored by Li Jinxi and Liu Shiru, is ahead of the former in many aspects, which is not only reflected in the more comprehensive and thoughtful cohesive means system established by the book, but also in the fact that the book has made great achievements in the study of phonetic cohesion, syntactic cohesion and other projects,which are not even discovered by the former; meanwhile, the book has enunciated many views in distinguishing hypotaxis from parataxis, which are still of guiding value up to now.更多还原
