大学生有氧运动能力与执行功能的关系:皮层厚度的中介作用
Cortical Thickness Mediates the Association between Aerobic Capacity and Executive Function in Young Adults
【摘要】 目的:探讨大学生有氧运动能力与执行功能的关系,分析皮层厚度在有氧运动能力与执行功能关系间的中介作用。方法:以217名大学生为对象,采用递增负荷运动测量有氧运动能力,使用Flanker、2-back和More-odd shifting任务评价执行功能中的抑制、刷新和转换功能,采用结构磁共振技术和基于脑区的皮质表面形态学分析方法计算皮层厚度。结果:1)高有氧运动能力组的抑制、刷新和转换功能反应时均更短;与低有氧运动能力组相比,高有氧运动能力组刷新功能正确率更高,两组的抑制和转换功能正确率差异不显著。2)两组皮层厚度存在差异。与低有氧运动能力大学生相比,高有氧运动能力大学生的前额叶皮层厚度增加,后扣带回皮层厚度变薄。3)有氧运动能力分别与转换功能反应时、后扣带回皮层厚度呈负相关;后扣带回皮层厚度与转换功能反应时呈正相关。4)控制性别、年龄、BMI后,发现有氧运动能力对转换功能反应时具有显著的预测作用,后扣带回皮层厚度在有氧运动能力与转换功能的关系间起中介作用。结论:1)有氧运动能力较高的大学生,执行功能行为表现更好;2)有氧运动能力促进大学生执行功能的行为表现,潜在神经通路可能是较高的有氧运动能力促进了大学生前额叶、后扣带回区域皮质发育成熟。
【Abstract】 Objective: To explore the association between aerobic capacity(AC) and executive function(EF) in young adults, and analyze the mediating effect of cortical thickness on the relationship between AC and EF. Methods: 21.7 college students were recruited The incremental back task, and More-odd shifting task. The structural magnetic resonance and Region-based Morphometry(RBM) were used to analyze the cortex thickness. Results: Compared with the low AC group, the high AC group had better efficiency in inhibition, updating, and cognitive flexibility. Besides, the high AC group had better accuracy in updating, whereas inhibition and cognitive flexibility were not significantly different. Furthermore, there was difference in the cortical thickness between the high and low AC group. Compared to the low AC group, the prefrontal cortex thickness increased, and the posterior cingulate cortex(PCC) thickness thinned in high AC group. The association analysis showed decreased gray matter thickness in PCC, coupled with better cognitive flexibility efficiency. Moreover, controlling the covariates with gender, age, and BMI, AC had a significant predicting on cognitive flexibility, and the thickness in PCC mediates the relationship between AC and cognitive flexibility. Conclusion:The AC is associated with the EF in young adults, and PCC cortical thickness plays a mediation effect between AC and EF, and the higher AC may promote cortical maturation in young adults.
