【Abstract】 Torch Festival is a holiday celebrated by ethnic groups Yi, Bai, Naxi, Jinuo, and Lahu, which has passed from ancient times down to the present day. There have been a lot of legends and stories about how the festival began, but we found that the Nuosu branch of Yi people had the word ■ of ■ meaning the god’s world requires compensation for the life of Sysse Axbi, and the word ■ of ■ meaning ’the human world pays the compensation for the life of Sysse Axbi’, which can better and reasonably explain the terms of Torch Festival, can factually explain Nuosu’s praying words on the occasion of lighting the Torch, and can explain the source and original meaning of Torch Festival more logically and naturally than others.更多还原
