【Abstract】 Connectives "and", "for" and "but" are often seen in English literature, and they are used in a pretty fixed way grammatically. However, in Lawrence’s Sons and Lovers and Woolf’s To the Lighthouse, they apply a new function which is viewpoint shifting to the connectives by violating their regular usages and putting them in the beginning of a sentence. This usage is very special, and a study of it with the two novels as cases can not only enrich the expression ways of free indirect style but also develop the stylistic function of connectives.更多还原
