【Abstract】 Objective:To evaluate the value on progression severity impact to age difference of patients with COVID-19. Methods:The clinical data of 268 patients with COVID-19 were retrospectively analyzed from Jan 2020 to Feb 2020 in Guangzhou No. 8 Hospital. Results:Among the 268 cases, the age was 18-90 years, and the average age was 49.2±15.9 years. There were mild to general type 81 cases(36.5%)and severe to critical type 3 cases(6.7%)in the young group(n=84),mild to general type 115 cases(51.8%)and severe to critical type 28 cases(62.2%)in the middleage group(n=143),mild to general type 26 cases(11.7%)and severe to critical type 14 cases(31.1%)in the elder group(n=40). The morbidity of severe to critical type in the young group was significantly lower than that in the middleage group and elder group(P<0.001). The onset risk of severe to critical type increased 3.29 times increasing the each year group. Conclusion:There is a high ratio of severe to critical type of COVID-19 in elder patients with COVID-19.
