【摘要】 《海国图志》译介了大量西方近代地理学术语,这些术语的译名在音节、构词法和文化蕴含等方面呈现出典型的民族化倾向。就西方地理学术语汉译的命名而言,《海国图志》的译名倾向于沿用传统地理学术语,或以词缀法新造术语。作为近代地理知识的载体,这些民族化的术语有利于西方近代地理学知识在中国社会的接受和普及,也促进了中国传统地理学的近代化转型。更多还原

【Abstract】 A lot of Western geographic terms were translated into Chinese via Haiguotuzhi, and these translated terms were featured with national characteristics in terms of pronunciation, lexis and cultural connotation. As far as the naming of Western geographic terms in Chinese is concerned, the Sinicizing of Western geographic terms can be categorized into two types: one is to adopt traditional Chinese terms, and the other is to create new terms with Chinese prefixes and suffixes. Therefore, these nationalized geographic terms, as the carrier of modern geographic knowledge, not only promoted the acceptation and popularity of modern geographic knowledge in Late Ching China, but also facilitated the modernization of China’s traditional geography.更多还原
