【Abstract】 In the background of urbanization in education,rural education is increasingly divorced from rural children’s experience,local ecology and community culture,breaking off the connection between classrooms and the rural community. Place-based education serves as a feasible approach to promoting the modernization of rural education. Rural principals play an important role in this process by advancing the modernization of rural education,cultivating the "Earth-centric" leadership,and training people with local roots in the global society. To practice the leadership in place-based education,rural principals must follow the philosophical belief in place-based education,helping the teaching staff and community members to accept the idea of place-based education,creating new methods of conducting place-based education in rural schools,and developing rural students’ key competences and their emotional acceptance of place-based education.更多还原
