【摘要】 本项研究运用自我决定理论,通过案例调查了高校外语教师的教学动机、心理需求和生活中幸福状态的关系。最近一些研究表明,高校外语教师的教学水平勉强能满足学校的要求,工作中缺乏满意度等,这些问题直接对教师的教学投入及教学效果产生至关重要的影响,因此本研究显得尤为重要。100名高校外语教师参加了本项研究。结果表明:1.高校外语教师的教学动机为内在动机和外在动机中的认同动机。2.动机水平受自主需求、能力需求和关联需求影响。3.内在动机、心理需求的满足和生活中的幸福状态成正相关。4.社会文化、校园文化在调节教师的教学动机和幸福感中起到了重要作用。本研究结果有助于高校领导者有针对性地制定行之有效的政策,同时也检验了自我决定理论在中国国情下解释教师幸福感的应用能力。最后,笔者就新时代背景下如何提高高校外语教师的教学动机和幸福感提出了因应对策和建议。更多还原

【Abstract】 This study investigates the relationship between teaching motivation of English language lecturers in university, psychological needs and wellbeing by using the Self-determination Theory. Recent studies have shown that there are significant problems with the teaching of English as a Foreign Language in higher education institutions in China. Evidence suggests that lecturers in foreign language classes are not strongly committed to teaching. Given the importance of teaching English as a second foreign language in China, this problem has potentially significant ramifications for the nation’s future. Job dissatisfaction is likely associated with less effective teaching and student’s poor learning outcomes. Although the problem is acknowledged, there has been limited research to understand the underlying contributing factors. 100 foreign language lecturers participated the study. The study yielded four key findings: 1.these lecturers are predominantly autonomously motivated in teaching.2.The level of motivation was influenced by their sense of competence, relatedness and autonomy. 3.The teaching motivation, three basic psychological needs and wellbeing are positively related.4. Contextual factors such as culture, societal context, and university organisational context were significant in regulating lecturers’ motivation. The findings are significant for leaders in higher education who need to implement policies that foster effective work environments. This study has also provided insight into the capacity of Self-determination Theory to explain motivation in a Chinese context. At the end of the article, the author presented some suggestions on raising teaching motivation and wellbeing in the context of New Time in China.更多还原
