【Abstract】 The paper explores the historical origin and development of paddy-field costumes which derived from the Spring and Autumn Period,flourished at the end of the Ming Dynasty and declined in the Qing Dynasty.Paddy-field costumes enjoy not only different cultural features in different historical background,but also an artistic feature of their formal beauty.The formal beauty fits the modern aesthetic standard,thus it can be adapted for present-day use and made to go with the tide of present fashion.This paper also discusses the application of the formal beauty in modern clothing design,which can bring inspiration for modern women dress and achieve the recycling of waste fabric.更多还原
