【Abstract】 Human capital theory constitutes the foundation of the discipline of educational economics,thus instrumental in shaping the relationship between the discipline and the real world. In this paper,I propose that examining the theory from a critical perspective and thinking about potential breakthroughs, such as constructing a theoretical framework that focus on the evolution of educational systems and institutions,are crucial ways for the future development of the discipline. It will also be a laudable commemoration for economists who proposed and developed the theory sixty years ago in the spirit of pursuing intellectual innovation despite controversy and animosity they then faced.更多还原
