【Abstract】 Unlike a film of traditional mermaid love, The Shape of Water, which won the best picture and best director of 2018 Academy Award, is more about the resistance and rebellion against the modern urban life and the technology and authority represented by the laboratory in the heterotopic space by the marginal people represented by Elisa, the cleaner, and the "Water God"(semi-human amphibian) as the subject of the experiment.
