【Abstract】 Objective To analyze the application of evidence-based nursing in the prevention of complications of peripherally inserted central catheter(PICC) in newborns. Methods 70 neonates with PICC catheterization who were treated in our hospital from February 2017 to June 2018 were selected and divided into control group and study group, 35 cases in each group, according to the selection mechanism. The control group was given routine nursing, and the study group was given interventional evidence-based nursing on the basis of the control group. The satisfaction of newborn family members and complications of phlebitis and related infections between the two groups were observed and compared. Results The incidence of complications in the study group was 2.9% compared with 17.2% in the control group, the difference was significant(P < 0.05).The total satisfaction rate of family members in the study group was97.1%, which was significantly better than 74.3% in the control group, the difference was significant(P < 0.05). Conclusion Prevention of neonatal PICC catheterization and evidence-based nursing can effectively reduce the occurrence of adverse clinical conditions and improve the prognosis.
