【Abstract】 The appearance of new historicism marks a critical transition of western literary theories. New historicism takes its shape in the post-modern context,develops itself with the modern linguistic theories,and stands out from other contemporary literary theories,undermining the distinct and strict division between history and literature,more expansively reflecting the significance of narrative understanding and cultural understanding,therefore exploring new dimension and space for literary and cultural studies. This paper has a further study of the textuality of history and the historicity of texts proposed by new historicism,interprets the theoretical connotation of new historicism objectively and comprehensively,and makes a new evaluation of its value.更多还原
