【Abstract】 Sophocles’ Oedipus King shows the crushing of human beings by omniscient "time"in extreme circumstances. The connotation of his tragedy is to show the simple ethical justice that people share. This paper not only reveals that this view of justice originates from the Oedipus family,which violates the ethical taboos of the family( oikos) gradually developed in the period of human civilization,but also attempts to show that tragedy highlights this moral metaphor through intercepting the wisdom of the opposition between man and God’s"time".
