【Abstract】 Polysemy has different derivation mechanisms. The evaluation component in the semantic structure of the emotional-mental predicate сожалеть causes the predicate to derive different meanings, which correspond to different lexical units of Chinese. The object title plays an important role in the semantic description of the predicate. The subject’s controllability/uncontrollability of the context-object becomes the main factor that distinguishes the different meanings within the predicate’s lexical unit. The predicate сожалеть has the same semantic title as its Chinese counterpart, but it has different syntactic representations on the surface. The article reveals the different semantic-syntactic features of lexical units in Russian and Chinese through semantic description.更多还原
