The clinical significance of regulatory B lymphocytes in the progression of breast cancer
【Abstract】 This study was performed to evaluate the roles of regulatory B cells CD5~+CD19~+IL-10(B10) in the development and progression of breast cancer by detecting the differential expression of B10 in peripheral blood of breast cancer patients and healthy controls. Flow cytometry was employed to detect B10 expression in peripheral blood of 50 patients with breast cancer and 50 healthy controls. Data showed that the amount of B10 in peripheral blood of breast cancer patients was significantly higher than that of healthy control(P<0.05); the percentage of B10 in peripheral blood of breast cancer patients in stage III-IV(3.50±0.20)% was higher than that of patients in stage III(1.85±0.25)%, both of which were higher than that of the healthy control group(1.30±0.50)%. In conclusion, the higher the clinical stage of breast cancer is, the higher the content of B10 becomes, which indicating that there is a certain correlation between B10 cells and the development of breast cancer.
