【Abstract】 Roger Fry put forward the concept of "emotional control" under the influence of Chinese traditional art, especially the aesthetics of literary and artistic creation. He also applied it to the study of Cézanne and wrote the book Cézanne: A Study of His Development. In fact, the concept of "emotional control" exerts influences on the writing of the book from four aspects: stages of Cézanne’s creation; emotional analysis of Cézanne’s creation; analysis of the aesthetic style evolution of Cézanne’s paintings; interpretations of still life paintings on the basis of "emotional control", highlighting the value of Cézanne’s still life paintings. Frye’s extraction and absorption of aesthetic resources from Chinese traditional art for western modern art criticism is of great significance to us.更多还原
