【Abstract】 Translation is not only a cross-language communication activity, but also a process of cross-culture exchange of meaning. Verschueren’s contextual adaptability provides a new way for translation. Therefore, the needs of the communicators can be greatly satisfied via presenting the theme and the ideas of the original works to the target language readers if that theory is used in translation.Under the guidance of contextual adaptability, this paper will choose examples, covering four aspects, i.e language context,culturecontext,physical context and psychological context, from the two English versions of Short Song to discuss the significance of contextual adaptability to translation.更多还原
