【Abstract】 Tolstoy believes that Laozi is a thinker who has great influence on him. As there are many similarities in self-improvement and holistic thinking between Russian Orthodox culture and Chinese traditional culture which emphasizes cognition of holistic intuitive perception, Tolstoy interpreted, inherited and developed Laozi’s theory in the context of self-culture. Tolstoy advocated the principle that suggested"not using violence to resist evil "to solve social problems; he also wished to create a heaven on earth, both of which had much in common with Laozi’s methods of realizing political ideals and the ideal society.更多还原
