【Abstract】 Through critical review on the association between searching and learning, the paper is going to make some suggestions for the study of learning-type searching. The paper introduces a view of searching as learning that focuses on the learning that occurs during the search process, search outputs and learning outcomes. Meanwhile, the paper proposes the concept of comprehensive search to describe iterative, reflective and integrative search sessions. In conclusion, the paper summarizes opportunities and challenges for future research and puts forward four suggestions: developing a searching system that supports sense-making and enhances learning, supporting effective user interaction of searching as learning, providing an query-based literacy tool within a search system, and assessing the learning of online searching behavior.更多还原
